What is the climate in Madeira and when to go to make the most of the country?

Few islands can boast of being pleasant to visit all year round. This is the case for Madeira, thanks to its favorable latitude, which is on par with southern Morocco. The climate is therefore subtropical, with a small temperature range. This is due to the influence of the Atlantic, but also to the island’s rugged terrain: the higher you go, the milder the climate becomes. Winters see average temperatures between 17 and 18 °C, while in summer, averages of 23 and 24 °C are common. The mercury rarely rises above 30 °C, due to the oceanic influence.
