What are the entry and stay requirements to travel to Ethiopia ?

Administrative formalities for French nationals:

A visa is required regardless of the reason for your visit. Visas can be obtained before departure from the Ethiopian Embassy in Paris, online using the E-Visa procedure, or upon arrival at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa (payment in €/$ cash only).

Travelers whose residence visa expires before their departure from Ethiopia must obtain an extension of this visa before it expires. Please check with the immigration services in Addis Ababa. There is a fee for this procedure.

What are the health requirements to travel to Ethiopia ?

No vaccinations are mandatory, but some are recommended. Before leaving, make sure your vaccinations are up to date. It also depends on the geographical area you are visiting. Ask your doctor for advice.

Recommended vaccinations:

Yellow fever

Diphtheria-tetanus-polio (DTP) is recommended, including rubella-mumps-measles (MMR) in children.

Tuberculosis

Typhoid fever and viral hepatitis A and B may be recommended.

Bacterial meningitis A + C + Y + W135.

Rabies vaccination may also be recommended in certain cases, particularly for young children and solo travelers.
