What is the climate in Colombia and when to go to make the most of the country?

Colombia can be visited year-round thanks to the diversity of its climates and regions. The climate depends mainly on elevation rather than the seasons.

The coastal regions around Cartagena and the Caribbean Sea enjoy a warm, tropical climate year-round, making them ideal for enjoying the beaches and islands. In the Andes, cities like Bogotá and Medellín offer a more temperate climate thanks to their elevation.

The Amazon regions are more humid and tropical, with more frequent rainfall but particularly lush vegetation. The driest periods, generally between December and March and then between July and August, are often the best times to travel and explore the country.
