15 Exceptional Days with Hoa

- Testimony of Elizabeth

- 15 days in Vietnam
- Guide: Hoa
What made you want to go to Vietnam?
We had already taken a trip a few years earlier to Thailand and we loved the culture and the hospitality we found there. We therefore wanted to repeat that experience, but this time in another South?Asian country.
So traveling to Vietnam was the most suitable choice for our desires.
How did you prepare your trip to Vietnam with Hoa?
We went to Vietnam in October 2017, stayed there for about fifteen days and decided to add a short five?day extension in Cambodia. During our previous trips we had already traveled with guides; those trips appealed to me a lot because we could learn much more about the culture thanks to the guides' knowledge. Moreover, the connection with locals was undeniable as the guides also acted as translators. Hiring a guide is therefore a guarantee of experiencing the country authentically.
Hoa is a very available guide who adapted extremely well to my requests and wishes. I greatly appreciated the service provided by Hoa.
So for our trip to Vietnam we also decided to hire a guide. Like many people we went to forums. But I must admit that those searches were quite tedious. Then we discovered SoGuide, and the process became much simpler. We got in direct contact with guides.
Hoa was the most responsive from the start; she answered my request immediately, and then we communicated via Whatsapp. We built our trip together over the phone. Hoa is a very available guide who adapted extremely well to my requests and wishes. I greatly appreciated the service provided by Hoa.
What was your itinerary?
We visited the whole of Vietnam from north to south. In the north we visited Hanoi and Sapa. In the centre we explored Hu?, and in the south we visited the city of Saigon. We really enjoyed our trip with Hoa. She was very available and helpful, she has excellent knowledge of the different regions of Vietnam and speaks excellent French. During our stay we lodged both in hotels and with local families. The latter were booked by Hoa. Staying with a local family lets you discover everyday Vietnamese life and taste dishes that Vietnamese people eat every day. It was a very pleasant experience.
What impressed you the most during your stay in Vietnam?
The hospitality of the Vietnamese people; everyone we met was very friendly and smiling. For example, as soon as I arrived, Hoa took me in her arms as if we had known each other for a long time to welcome me. Then, as promised, she took us to her home for dinner. That gesture touched us deeply.
What advice would you give for preparing a trip to Vietnam?
I think that being well informed about the customs and habits of the country is essential, especially for Asian countries that have many cultural aspects different from ours.
Would you recommend SoGuide?
Yes, of course. I now swear by it. Using SoGuide is much simpler than rummaging through forums to find a guide.
